Culture & Tradition
The goal for this project is to create a food or drink label. We were tasked to also connect the concept to our identity. I took inspiration from Mexican Folklore, specifically Alebrijes (Spirit Guides that guide people through life and death). I also was inspired by Mexican Talavera Tiles that showcase traditional pattern.

Techniques & Style
For this label I used a rich color palette that was simple and traditional. Red is used to reflect and invoke passion, tradition, and energy. Red is also a prominent color used in Mexico and their traditional textiles. Mezcal is also a smokey drink which the red help indicate this.
The use of warm browns and cream color is used to invoke a rustic sense of nature. Ancient Ivory was used to reflect the idea of an ancient scroll or old book you can used old legends and folklore in.

Personal Connection
I was inspired by my Mexican culture and where my family is from. My parents are from Sinaloa, MX and Michoacán, MX which are prominently displayed on my label. I also has always been interested in folklore and learning about my own culture. Through this project I was able to research and educated on Mexican Folklore.
